Shawn Jackman (Jack) CWNE#54 is a personal friend and has been a mentor to me for many years.  I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work with Jack for 4 years. Jack is a great teacher who takes complex 802.11 standards and breaks them down so almost anyone can understand the concept at hand. I'm excited for you brother. Great job and job well done! Put another notch in the belt!

Cisco 3500 ECO Pack Special – Free 100 WCS PLUS+ License with each ECO pack purchase

Cisco is running a special for a while now which is not well advertised.

If you purchase Cisco Access Points model 3500 in ECO packs you will receive a WCS PLUS+ 100 access point license for FREE!

I understand when ordering the ECO pack, there is a special order number so you will need to ask your reseller.

KEEP IN MIND!

The PAK license for your 100 access point PLUS+ is actually in EACH ECO pack. So if you have someone install your access points, make sure you pull the PAK from each box.

If you are like me and did not know the PAK was in each box. Talk to your Cisco Sales Rep. He can have all your PAKs converted to a single PAK, if you ask him/her nicely … LOL

Q. Are 10-packs available?

A. Yes, the Cisco Aironet 3500 is delivered in 10-access point eco-packs that reduce packaging waste by more than 50% and can reduce shipping and installation costs. Additionally, the eco-pack includes a WCS PLUS Upgrade license for 100 access points at no cost.

Enjoy !

How long is the promo and is it listed on the Cisco site?

Hello,

We just purchaed 9 eco packs. This is an UPGRADE to a plus license if you have a current base license. These licenses won't acutally increase the total number of AP's on your WCS. It will simply unlock the plus features for your current licenses.

Enjoy!

PS: It's an upgrade license (not a PLUS license). And, the promotion expired at the end of July 2011.

Yes and thank you ... UPGRADE from BASE .. Sorry, I should have clarified ...

August 2, 2011 | Registered CommenterGeorge

I think there is a 200 license upgrade limit on this deal, e.g., buying 3 Eco paks will not get you 300 upgrade licenses.

August 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterEg

Actually it does. We purchased 30 Eco packs and received 3000 upgrade licenses. Each box contained a 100 pak.

This free WPLUS license is an upgrade to a BASE....what I did was....get this free upgrade and purchase BASE license which is lot cheaper.

Now here is the trick... you cannot just add Base on top of the existing WCS license...

1. Remove the existing licenses...
2. Add the new BASE
3. Add the free upgrade..
4. Add the old licenses.
